Hello new followers and fellow art lovers!

My name is Cheyne and I am an artist and photographer in Hawaii. The Universe of One is a huge collection of self-portraits. I call them self portraits because in addition to doing the makeup, wardrobe, lighting and art direction, I am also the subject — but the portraits are not of me. This is my conceptual way of linking humanity and showcasing ways we are all similar and different.

I use theatre tricks like makeup and wardrobe to transform, but I also rely on peoples imaginations. Sometimes I like to do photo series like my “Memento Vivere” series inspired by paintings of saints, or my series inspired by “Les Misérables”.

Currently, I am working on a book, which was 300% funded by my Kickstarter campaign. The book will be released at the end of February and a public photo exhibit in April will follow shortly. You can follow the progress of the book on my Facebook page.
